2026 Primary Election Endorsements
Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors

Sylvia Arenas, Candidate for Santa Clara County Supervisor, District 1
Sylvia has served both on the San José City Council and now on the county Board of Supervisors, giving her direct experience with issues like housing, transportation, and public health. Her policy priorities include economic development, public safety, and support for families, children, and seniors, and she has worked on initiatives related to affordable housing, homelessness, and services for underserved communities. Arenas has supported efforts aimed at immigrant communities and rural residents in her district and represents a platform that emphasizes social services and community investment. It is no wonder why CEMA and many other organizations, elected leaders, and community leaders have rallied behind Sylvia Arenas to champion effective solutions for the challenges Santa Clara County faces.
Susan Ellenberg, Candidate for Santa Clara County Supervisor, District 4
Susan’s public service career began in education, where she served as a school board trustee for San Jose Unified School District. There, she worked to improve schools, expand students' opportunities, and ensure families had a voice in decision-making. Her time in education reinforced a fundamental truth: government works best when it listens to the people it serves.
Her leadership on the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors has been guided by that same principle. As a collaborator and problem solver, she has worked alongside community leaders, advocates, and residents to ensure government is responsive, compassionate, and effective.
Susan knows how to build coalitions, which is often rare in a divisive political climate—that is why CEMA and many other organizations, elected leaders, and community leaders have rallied behind Susan Ellenberg to champion effective solutions for the challenges Santa Clara County faces.
